I'm Randall Mitchell, founder of Carbon Works.

I've been working in technology for over 20 years. I got my start during the dot-com era doing IT support and information services for small businesses — helping real people with real technology problems. After a career shift, I came back to the industry and spent 15 years building software at scale: leading engineering teams at Paramount Global, shipping apps like NBC, Southwest Airlines, Coca-Cola, Noggin, HGTV, Hallmark, and others, and growing products from first release to millions of users.

After years in the corporate world, I wanted to do something closer to home. Small businesses around here deal with the same technology problems that big companies do — except without a team to sort it out. They're paying for software they've barely set up, copying data between systems that should be connected, and spending their evenings on paperwork that could have been handled during the day. I started Carbon Works to help with that.
